The Association for Research on Mothering, University of Regina
The Association for Research on Mothering, University of Regina (ARM-UR), is a group of forty-five faculty and graduate student women who have been meeting since the fall of 2005. ARM-UR is proud to be affiliated with the Association for Research on Mothering (ARM) at York University, which has been established for ten years.
ARM-UR's mandate is to provide a forum for the discussion and dissemination of research on mothering. The Association's first project is to produce a bilingual and interdisciplinary anthology of essays on mothering titled "Mothering Canada/La maternité au Canada: Interdisciplinary Voices/Voix interdisciplinaires." This publication will feature both English and French contributions in the format of essays, creative writing, poetry and visual art. It has been accepted for publication by Demeter Press in Toronto, Ontario, and scheduled for printing in the spring of 2009.
The University of Regina faculty members involved in this project are: Dr. Lynn Loutzenhiser (Psychology), Dr. Jocelyne Praud (Political Science), Shawna Geissler (PhD candidate in English Literature), and Professor Leesa Streifler (Visual Arts).
